This year marks the halfway point to our 2030 deadline to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Now we're in a race against time to achieve our vision of a better future for all, but this is still a race we can win.
To help accelerate progress on the SDGs and inspire everyone to take action for people, planet and prosperity, the United Nations in the Philippines has partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) on a nationwide painting competition with the theme "SDGs: A Race We Can Win." The contest is open to Filipino school children aged 12-18 years who have not yet exhibit their artwork. We want to know: what is your vision for a better future?
The paintings will also represent a call for solidarity for everyone to join in and help us hurdle the second stretch of this race to achieve the SDGs. Guided by a Memorandum from the Department of Education, elementary and high school students will be encouraged to participate in the competition.
A committee to be led by DepEd and UN Philippines will select the winning entries. The awarding ceremony will be held in December.
