UN Team meets with Philippines socioeconomic planning agency
The new Cooperation Framework with the Government was a focus of the discussion
On 28 October 2022, the UN Country Team in the Philippines led by UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator Gustavo Gonzalez met with Secretary Arsenio Balisacan and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) team to discuss development priorities for the Philippines.
Mr. Gonzalez acknowledged Secretary Balisacan's vision and leadership in the preparation of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP).
At the same time, Mr. Gonzalez said that the UNCT now has a roadmap for the preparation of the new UN Cooperation Framework (CF) adopted all the recommendations of the NEDA.
Mr. Gonzalez and Secretary Balisacan agreed on the need to nourish the relationship between the UN and the Philippines especially in the context of the UN reform.
