With over 25 years of operational and leadership experience in WFP, she has held various positions under policy and programme including field assignments in Zaire, Rwanda, Tanzania, DPR Korea and three postings to Iraq including 3 years as Representative & Country Director (2014 – 2016). For many years, she was on the WFP sudden onset Emergency Team and was deployed to the Great Lakes Emergency in the wake of the Rwanda genocide, to support operations in Macedonia, to the Special Envoy’s office in Pakistan covering the post-9/11 Afghan operations, the 2003 Iraq war, the Indian Ocean tsunami and the Pakistan earthquake.
In WFP’s Rome headquarters, Jane worked for many years as a Donor Relations Officer covering European donors. In 2005, she became Chief Reports Officer responsible for corporate reporting and information management. Latterly, she was Director of Performance Management, Monitoring and Reporting. External to WFP, she was seconded to the Secretary General’s High Level Panel on Safety and Security around the world (2008) and in 2012 on loan to the African Union African Risk Capacity (ARC) to oversee the operational contingency planning, monitoring & evaluation and reporting processes for the ARC design phase.
A native of Australia, she was educated at Monash University. She has done continuing education courses at Oxford University and research work on Iraq at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). She speaks Italian and French.
