Press Release

NOTIFICATION: Fraudulent website impersonating UN agencies and posting fake job vacancies

09 June 2025

---

Deceptive schemes using the names of the United Nations and its entities are spreading across the Philippines, targeting job seekers by posting unverified job vacancies under the guise of several United Nations entities. The website https://ph.asia-careers.com has been flagged as one such scam site.

Some of its scam tactics include unsolicited job offers with vague descriptions, requests for upfront fees to process the application, and maneuvers that pressure potential victims with a sense of false urgency to act on their offers.

We wish to warn the public of these scams, where fees are being charged by fraudsters falsely claiming association with the United Nations. The United Nations NEVER charges any fees from applicants at any stage of the recruitment process.  If in doubt, please check the official Careers website of the United Nations [https://careers.un.org/home?language=en] or its entities. Some Philippines job vacancies are also posted on the dedicated United Nations Philippines website [https://philippines.un.org/en/jobs].

Do not be fooled: People involved in these fraudulent activities may present realistic-looking identification and documents to support their claims.

Suspicious communications or proposals purportedly from any United Nations entity should immediately be reported to philippines@un.org.

Victims of such scams are strongly encouraged to immediately reach out to local authorities for assistance.

The United Nations reports fraudulent schemes to local law enforcement for appropriate action. We appreciate the public’s help in bringing misleading practices that harm the people in the Philippines to our attention.
